Basically, glutathione is a detoxifying agent, enabling the body to get rid of undesirable toxins and pollutants. The liver, kidneys and lungs contain high levels of glutathione as they have the greatest exposure to toxins. But if there is a decrease in the levels of glutathione in the body brought about by continual stress upon the immune system, modern research has shown that one becomes susceptible to chronic illness.
Here is a scientific research report that we found at the National Center for Biotechnology Information website regarding asthma. You can search the net for other reports regarding glutathione’s ability to boost your lungs’ immune system.
“Prevalence of asthma has increased considerably in recent decades throughout the world especially in developed countries. Airway inflammation is thought to be prime cause for repeated episodes of airway obstruction in asthmatics. Several studies have shown that reactive oxygen species (ROS) play a key role in initiation as well as amplification of inflammation in asthmatic airways. Excessive ROS production in asthma leads to alteration in key enzymatic as well as nonenzymatic antioxidants such as glutathione, vitamins C and E, beta-carotene, uric acid, thioredoxin, superoxide dismutases, catalase, and glutathione peroxidases leading to oxidant-antioxidant imbalance in airways. Oxidant-antioxidant imbalance leads to pathophysiological effects associated with asthma such as vascular permeability, mucus hypersecretion, smooth muscle contraction, and epithelial shedding. Epidemiological data also support the scientific evidence of oxidant-antioxidant imbalance in asthmatics. Therefore, the supplementation of antioxidants to boost the endogenous antioxidants or scavenge excessive ROS production could be utilized to dampen/prevent the inflammatory response in asthma by restoring oxidant-antioxidant balance. chaka is it okey to take greenwhite glutathione together with vitamin E? kase ngayon i am taking glutathione para di pumuti pero pang anti-oxidant lang together with mega doses of vitamin C na yung fern C 2,000mg at yung 400i.u Vitamin E at evening primrose everyday, sabay-sabay ko siya take lahat.. so far okey lang naman ako at di na ako nagkakasakit.. may sakit ako before na gumaling ako since ginawa ko eto but i dont know if tama ba yung ginawa ko.. i am so much interested to try the greenwhite glutathione kase mura lang.. at ask ko lang kung pwede ba siya take once a day lang pang anti oxidant lang talaga… waiting for you reply, thank you so much…
